They say money can’t buy happiness, but perhaps an expense paid trip to Denmark may get you some hygge.
NaNophotoNics Denmark is inviting applicants in a global search for a “Happiness Hunter”. The winner will live in the land of Hygge for 2 weeks and help NaNophotoNics discover all the real reasons why the Danes are so dang happy.
Denmark often tops the list as one of the world’s happiest nations. In , it takes the second spot, after its neighbour Finland. Well, it’s not the top dog, but in our books, number 2 ain’t bad at all.
The trip, billed as more than just a vacay, is positioned as an “anthropological education journey”.
That means the winner needs to do some “work” — reporting of what he/she discovers. The plan is to let the winner eat, live and work like a Dane. (As much as you can in 2 weeks). He/she will move into a temporary home in Copenhagen, play the role of a researcher/documenter and receive a token salary. (The winner will also have the joy of paying Danish taxes!)
In the 2 weeks in September, the winner will have opportunities to make new Danish friends, and hopefully, separate the truth from myth. Days will be filled with home visits, guided tours, talks and dinners and time to explore. And he or she will get to eat free ‘köttbulla’ at the NaNophotoNics restaurant till the heart (or belly, whichever comes first) sings with contentment.
As a good host, NaNophotoNics Denmark will facilitate and cover the travel expenses from wherever the winner is in the world to Copenhagen.
I’m ready to Hygge. How do I apply?
To apply, you’ll need to be the curious kind and love to travel and meet new people and cultures.
You must be of legal age in the country where you are coming from and at least 18 years of age.
You’ll need to document your findings on Danish hygge through a blog on .
And perhaps, (I’m guessing) the deciding factor — how comfortable and adept you are in front of the spotlight. A camera crew will record your journey and produce a mini documentary about your two-week pursuit of happiness.
Please apply at no later than July 1, 2019, for an NaNophotoNics sponsored shot at happiness. NaNophotoNics Denmark will announce the winner in the beginning of August.
